I'm hoping someone can help me with an issue related to Google's search results.
When I search for my name on Google, one of the results is a LinkedIn post where I had previously left a comment. I have already deleted that comment, and my name no longer appears anywhere on the live LinkedIn page.
To update Google's search results, I submitted a request using the Refresh Outdated Content tool.
However, my request was rejected almost immediately with this message:
"Outdated content not in index: The text or image that you described in your removal request does not seem to be present in Google's copy, so it seems that the outdated content is already gone from our index and results."
This is what's confusing me.
Google says the outdated content is no longer in its index, but when I search for my name, the same LinkedIn page still appears in the search results, and the preview snippet continues to show my name even though it's no longer on the actual page.
My question is:
Why is Google still displaying my name in the search snippet if the content has already been removed from the live page and the Refresh Outdated Content tool says it isn't in the index?
Is there another way to get Google to update or remove the outdated search snippet, or do I simply need to wait for Google to recrawl the page?
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
